
Two Badgers collect WCHA monthly honors

Eden and Stewart earn Forward and Rookie of Month
MADISON, Wis - The WCHA announced on Monday that Lacey Eden and Rhyah Stewart earned Forward and Rookie of the month honors for February after leading the No. 1 Wisconsin Women's Hockey team to a 7-1-0 record.
Rhyah Stewart earned her first WCHA Rookie of the Month honor after leading Wisconsin to five victories in starts. Stewart took over as UW's starting goaltender at the end of January after junior Ava McNaughton departed for the Olympics. The freshman had a .923 save percetnage across six games, and earned a win against No. 2 Ohio State. Stewart held opponents to two or less goals in five-of-the-six games.
Eden collected the WCHA Forward of the Month award after recently surpassing 100 goals as a Badger. She is the fourth ever Badger to do so, alongside Hilary Knight, Brianna Decker, and Meghan Duggan. Eden gathered a conference-high 17 points in eight February games from seven goals and ten assists. When UW met St. Cloud State on Feb. 21, Eden had a career-high five points in a hat trick performance.
Eden and Stewart will join their teammates to play against Minnesota State in the semifinal of the WCHA Final Faceoff this Thursday 4 p.m. CT. Fans can watch the matchup on B1G+, Channel 3.2 Television Wisconsin, or listen on 1070 The Game.Â
