Harvey wins third straight Defender of the Year
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Wisconsin women's hockey captain Caroline Harvey and head coach Mark Johnson each took home yearly honors at the WCHA Postseason Awards Banquet this Wednesday. Harvey won both WCHA Defender and Player of the Year, while Johnson won WCHA Coach of the Year.
Senior Harvey took home her first WCHA Player of the Year honor, the second-straight Badger to win after her teammate Casey O'Brien won last season. Harvey also won the WCHA Defender of the Year award for the third straight year, previously winning in both 2024-25 and 2023-24.Â
Head coach Mark Johnson won the WCHA Coach of the Year award for the 11th total time, and the second consecutive. Johnson coached the Badgers to a record eight NCAA Championships. This season, he has coached the Badgers to a 31-3-2 record, winning the WCHA regular season with a 23-3-2 record. This comes despite five Badgers missing eight games due to the Olympics.
Captain Lacey Eden and junior Ava McNaughton finished as top-three finalists for the Forward and Goaltender of the Year award.Â
