Badgers win their 15th match of the spring

No. 35 Wisconsin earns road victory over No. 64 Indiana, 4-0
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 35 Wisconsin men's tennis team (15-5, 6-4 Big Ten) defeated No. 64 Indiana (9-10, 3-7 Big Ten) on the road, 4-0. The Badgers earned a hard fought doubles point, and completed the sweep with wins at No. 1, No. 4 and No. 5 singles.
Indiana started strong in doubles play, with its nationally ranked duo notching a 6-2 win on court two. Wisconsin's Matthew Fullerton and Patrik Meszaros dug out a 6-4 victory at No. 3 doubles, putting all eyes on court one. The senior-sophomore duo of Michael Minasyan and Ferdinand Kloesters secured the doubles point for Wisconsin after winning the tiebreaker 7-4 at No. 1 doubles.
The Badgers took first set victories on all but one court to start singles action. Edouard Aubert doubled the Wisconsin lead with a 6-4, 6-4 straight set win at No. 4 singles. Meszaros stayed hot at No. 1 singles, digging out a straight set victory of his own in 7-6, 7-6 tiebreak fashion. The sophomore improved to 4-0 when playing in the No. 1 slot.
Friday night's match was clinched for the Badgers at No. 5 singles, with Sachiv Kumar holding off Indiana's Aryan Badlani and securing the 6-3, 7-6 victory. The win was Kumar's 10th of the dual season.
Wisconsin improves to 15-5 on the season, its most wins since the 2017 NCAA Qualifying Team went 18-8. The Badgers' conference record is now 6-4 and they have three regular season matches remaining before the Big Ten Championships in Ojai, Calif., which runs from April 22-25.
