Wu leads UW with top-20 finish
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Wisconsin women's golf team finished seventh to round out the regular season at the Boilermaker Spring Classic at the Ackerman Allen Golf Course in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Four Badgers placed in the top-half of the field as the team shot +48 in windy conditions. They played the opening two rounds on Sunday.
Redshirt junior Tammy Wu led the way at eight-over, while finishing in 19th. It's her fourth time in top-20 this season, and second in-a-row after coming in 14th at last week's Terps Invitational.
Junior Kate Brody came in 30th at +13, highlighted by an opening round 74 (+2). True freshman Grace Slocum fired a 75 (+3) on Monday to rise 16 spots on the leaderboard during the final day.
Sophomore Izzi Stricker tied Slocum in 39th following a 73 (+1) during Monday's first frame, where she had three birdies.
Stricker and Alexia Siehl both scored in two rounds for UW after Siehl shot her low-round of +5 Monday to close in 63rd.
Competing indvidually, Lauren Sammon was in 74th at +23.
The Badgers have the week off before the Big Ten Championship, which tees off April 24 at the Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, California. The schools will play 18 holes across three days with live coverage of Sunday's final round available on Big Ten Network.
