
Three Badgers earn Big Ten Postseason Honors

Sholokhova named First Team All-Big Ten; Ivanova, and Usui also recognized for standout seasons
MADISON, Wis. – Three Wisconsin women's tennis student-athletes earned Big Ten postseason honors, the conference announced Wednesday.
Maria Sholokhiova was named to the All-Big Ten First Team following a standout senior season. She was consistently ranked in the ITA singles polls, finishing with a 13-2 overall record and an 8-1 mark in Big Ten play, ending the season on an eight-match winning streak. In doubles, she went 12-3 with an unblemished 9-0 record in conference play alongside Lucie Urbanova and Ekaterina Ivanova. She has earned All-Big Ten honors in every season at Wisconsin.
Ekaterina Ivanova earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors. Primarily playing at No. 2 singles, Ivanova compiled a 9-2 record, including a 3-2 mark in Big Ten play. On the doubles court, she notched 10 wins, including six in conference matches, and finished the season on a five-match winning streak. Ivanova was named to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team last season.
Kaede Usui, a freshman, made an immediate impact on and off the court in her debut season, earning both All-Freshman Team honors and the Sportsmanship Award. Competing mainly at the No. 5 and 6 spots, she posted a 9-4 record with a 6-2 mark in conference play. Her freshman season was highlighted by clinching the team's highest-ranked win over No. 6 UCLA. She was also impactful in the doubles lineup, posting a 10-3 record, with six of those wins coming in conference play.
