Badgers come in at No. 2 in the B1G preseason poll
MADISON, Wis. – Charlie Fuerbringer and Jaela Auguste of the Wisconsin volleyball team have been named to the 2026 All-Big Ten Preseason Team, announced by the conference Thursday afternoon. The Badgers also came in at No. 2 in the Big Ten Preseason Poll.
A total of nineteen players made this year's All-Big Ten Preseason Team with Nebraska and Purdue leading the way with three athletes each. Nebraska's Andi Jackson, Harper Murry, Bergen Reilly and Penn State's Kennedy Martin were unanimous selections. Charlie Fuerbringer and Jaela Auguste represented Wisconsin in this year's preseason team.
Setter Charlie Fuerbringer returns for her third season with the Badger Red and White. The All-American started in 24 matches a season ago, missing nine matches due to injury. Fuerbringer was named All-Big Ten First Team while averaging 12.34 assists per set, 2.57 digs per set, and 0.78 kills per set.
Middle blocker Jalea August spent her first two seasons at Florida, and the All-American started and played in all 28 matches for the Gators in 2025. Auguste hit .344 on the season, averaging 2.69 kills per set and 0.98 blocks per set. In 2025, Auguste earned AVCA Third Team All-American recognition while also earning AVCA Southeast Region First Team, and All-SEC First Team honors.
In the Big Ten Preseason Poll, Nebraska was a unanimous selection to win the Big Ten, with Wisconsin, Penn State, Purdue, and Minnesota rounding out the top five.
The Badgers finished second a season ago with a 28-5, 17-3 overall record.
Wisconsin will begin its competitive schedule on August 8 beginning with an exhibition match against Badger alumnae. First serve is set for 6 p.m. on B1G+.
