The Badgers defeat the Golden Grizzlies, 5-0
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's soccer team continued to impress offensively, scoring four goals in the first half en route to a 5-0 shutout victory over Oakland. Markie Hrvojevic earned a goal and an assist in Sunday's match against the Golden Grizzlies to lead the way.
The Badgers have outscored opponents 10-0 to open the season, the second-best differential through two games in program history.
How it Happened:
The Badgers picked up where they left off after Thursday's 5-0 win over Saint Mary's (CA), quickly putting the pressure on the Golden Grizzlies. Hrvojevic put the first shot on goal in the fifth minute before finding the back of the net in the seventh minute to give Wisconsin the 1-0 lead.

Matthew Zachemski wasted no time notching his second goal of the season, sending the ball to the back of the net in the ninth minute. The junior fired a misplayed ball past Oakland's Cole Thompson to double Wisconsin's lead.

Fourteen minutes later junior Julian Kuhr connected on a pass from Luke van Heukelum for his first career Badger goal, giving the Badgers a 3-0 lead.

Oakland brought some pressure with two corner kicks before the break, but Ellis Jones headed both away to keep the Golden Grizzlies off the board. In the 45th minute Wisconsin executed on a throw-in from Will Smith to score its fourth goal of the half. Roman Eisa scored his first of the season, heading the ball off the back post.

The second half consisted of more pressure from Wisconsin, with its defense minimizing Oakland's opportunities. The Badgers took the 5-0 lead after Emile Kisse deposited a pass into the net in the 74th minute for his first goal as a Badger. Luke van Heukelum and Hrvojevic earned assists.

Judewellin Michel held down the fort defensively, securing his second shutout of the season in as many games.
