MADISON, Wis. — The No. 6 Wisconsin volleyball team will face strong competition from No. 5 Stanford and No. 4 Pitt at the Opening Spike Classic in Pittsburgh on Friday, Aug. 28, and Sunday, Aug. 30.

The Badgers are slated to take on Stanford at 8 p.m. ct on Friday, before meeting Pitt in an 11 a.m. ct matinee on Sunday.

Both matches will be nationally televised, with the Stanford match airing on ESPN2 and the Pitt match airing on ESPN. Fans looking to purchase tickets for either match can do so here.

Friday's matchup against Stanford marks the first time the two teams have met since Wisconsin defeated the Cardinals in four sets at the 2025 NCAA Tournament to advance to the Regional Finals.

The Badgers last met Pitt four years ago in the NCAA Tournament Regional Finals in Madison, where the Panthers claimed a five-set victory to advance to the national semifinal. This weekend's matchup will mark the first time the two teams will have met in Pittsburgh.

Wisconsin is fresh off its opening weekend of action at the AVCA First Serve tournament in Milwaukee, where it split a pair of matches against two top-seven teams.

On Friday, the Badgers met a familiar face in No. 4 Kentucky before falling to a three-set loss. UW outside hitter Eva Travis earned 13 kills as Charlie Fuerbringer tallied 36 assists and eight digs.

The Badgers swept No. 7 Louisville in straight sets to wrap up the weekend in Milwaukee on Friday. Setter Charlie Fuerbringer earned match MVP honors after tallying a career-high six kills and tabbing 33 assists alongside eight digs.
