Men’s soccer hosts No. 2 Indiana on Tuesday

Badgers play third and fourth consecutive ranked opponents in games this week
MADISON, Wis. - The No. 7 Wisconsin men's soccer team (5-1-1, 0-1-1 B1G) plays its third top-10 match up on Tuesday night against No. 2 Indiana (7-0-1, 2-0-0 B1G) at the McClimon Soccer Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT against the Hoosiers. The Badgers also travel to East Lansing, Michigan, on Friday, Sept. 25 to take on No. 19 Michigan State (6-1-1, 2-0-0 B1G) at 6 p.m. CT.
Tuesday's match in Madison is the Badgers' annual March to McClimon. Students are invited to the Goodman Athletic Plaza at 5 p.m. for free t-shirts (first 100), to hang with Bucky, and games. Coach Jones will make an appearance at 5:45 p.m., and the march will follow.
Here are five things to know before this week's matches.
1 – DAZZLING DEFENSE – The Badgers are tied for second in the Big Ten in goals allowed with four, and have not let an opponent score more than one goal in a game this season. Judewellin Michel has played every minute between the posts and is sporting a .840 save percentage with 21 saves on the season.
2 – MARYLAND MATCH – Wisconsin suffered its first setback of the season against No. 8 Maryland last Friday. A second-half goal was enough for the Terps to take a 1-0 victory over the Badgers. The loss was Wisconsin' first time getting shutout in 15 games, dating back to last season. Defender Joaquin Torres led the Badgers in shots (3) and shots on goal (2) during the contest.
3 – KNOW THE HOOSIERS – UW trails in the all-time series against Indiana 5-45-10. The Badgers' most recent victory came in 2013 when they earned a 4-3 win over the Hoosiers in Madison. Last season, Indiana took a 4-1 win against Wisconsin, in Bloomington.
The Hoosiers are the only team left undefeated in the Big Ten, holding a 7-0-1 overall record heading into Tuesday's match. Oliver Moller-Jensen is pacing their offense with 12 points (5 goals, 2 assists) through eight games played this season. 3rd-year keeper Michal Mroz has played every minute in goal for Indiana, posting a 0.875 save percentage with five shutouts.
4 – SCOUTING THE SPARTANS – UW holds the 24-16-7 edge in the all-time series against Michigan State. Last season, the Badgers celebrated a 2-0 win in Madison. Their most recent win in East Lansing came in 2018 when they shutout the Spartans in a 1-0 victory.
Michigan State is tied at the top of the Big Ten standings after opening conference play 2-0. The Spartans are tied for second-most goals scored in the conference with 20. Andrew Darakdjian leads their offense with 10 points (4 goals, 2 assists). Goalkeeper Jake Grekowicz has played nearly every minute in goal, posting a .650 save percentage with four shutouts.
5 – HOW TO FOLLOW – Tuesday's top-ranked contest will be played at the Badgers' McClimon Soccer Complex, with admission free to all.
