2016-17: Helped the novice eight to a pair of second-place finishes at the Big Ten Double Dual (4/8) … rowed fifth seat for the first open eight that placed second at the 2016 Milwaukee River Challenge (Sept. 17) … stroked both the first novice collegiate eight and the first novice collegiate four to first-place finishes at the 2016 Head of the Rock (Oct. 9)
High School: Member of crew for three years … placed 13th at 2015 Head of the Charles in junior fours … finished 14th (2015) and 12th (2016) at Youth Nationals in junior fours … also competed in Nordic skiing for five years … four-time varsity letter recipient … competed on section team and placed first at sections as a team … placed ninth as a team at state
Personal: Parents and Anne and Todd Hinrichs … has one sister, Sadie … mother, Anne, rowed at the College of Saint Benedict in Minnesota … father, Todd, rowed at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and was part of the varsity eight that won the 1990 National Collegiate Rowing Championships … intended major is rehabilitation psychology
Reason for choosing UW-Madison: “I have always loved UW-Madison and have visited here ever since I was a kid due to the fact my dad went here. I love the rowing team and positivity and all of the amazing academic programs/support athletes receive.”
What Wisconsin rowing means to you: “Wisconsin rowing, to me, means a positive uplifting team environment that is not afraid to push your limits in order to achieve success. The team is always so committed to getting faster while looking out for one another, which I love.”
