Alvah Hansbro is in his third season with the Wisconsin football program in 2022, his first as a recruiting assistant. He spent his first two seasons at UW as an analyst , working with the Badgers’ defensive coaching staff.
A Madison native and Edgewood High School graduate, Hansbro returned to his hometown after spending three seasons as cornerbacks coach and special teams coordinator at Eastern Illinois. Prior to that, he spent a season as cornerbacks coach at Maine.
Hansbro’s first FBS experience came at his alma mater, Northern Illinois, where he served as a student coach in 2006 following his playing days for the Huskies. He then worked his way up the ranks as a secondary coach, from Edgewood High School in Madison to Division III University of Dubuque to Division II Glenville State. He served as a quality control assistant at Syracuse in 2014 and 2015 before taking the cornerbacks position at Maine in 2016.
A three-year starter at cornerback and four-year special teams contributor for the Huskies, he graduated from Northern Illinois in 2006 with a degree in corporate communications.
