Kevin Claxton is in his third season on staff at his alma mater in 2019, serving as an analyst for Wisconsin's offense.
Claxton returned to UW after spending the previous three seasons as a high school coach in Florida. That included two years as an assistant at Boyd Anderson High School, the same school he attended as a prep.
As linebackers coach, he helped a Boyd Anderson team that had gone winless the previous year to a 10-2 record and district title in 2015. Claxton also coached defensive backs and special teams units at Boyd Anderson.
A four-year letterwinner who played in 44 games for the Badgers, Claxton was part of UW's back-to-back Big Ten championship teams in 2010 and 2011.
Claxton assumed a starting role at linebacker in 2011, recording 47 tackles, 6.5 TFLs and a sack for a defense that ranked 13th nationally by allowing just 19.0 points per game on its way to winning the inaugural Big Ten Football Championship Game and earning a berth in the Rose Bowl.
For his efforts as a senior, Claxton was presented with the Jay Seiler Coaches Appreciation Award, an honor based upon "improvement, attitude and willingness to help the program in all areas."
He finished his career with 85 total tackles, including 8.5 for loss.
A native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Claxton graduated from UW with a bachelor's degree in family and consumer education in 2012.
