Abby Suguiyama is in her fourth season with the Wisconsin football program in 2022, serving as director of football student services.

In her role, Suguiyama is the football program’s primary academic liaison for current and prospective student-athletes and works closely with Academic Services, Career & Leadership and related units in the athletic department and on campus.

Suguiyama came to Wisconsin after spending six seasons at Cal, most recently as director of football academic support. She also spent three years as director of recruiting and eligibility, overseeing recruiting efforts for all 30 sports at Cal, and held positions as director of operations for the Bears’ women’s lacrosse team and in event management.

Prior to Cal, Suguiyama spent four years working in the athletic communications office at Elon University, her alma mater.

Suguiyama is a 2013 graduate of Elon with a degree in sport management. She and her husband, Wisconsin swimming and diving head coach Yuri Suguiyama, have a son, Luke.
