A former student-manager at Wisconsin, Ben Eckburg enters his second season on the Badgers’ staff, serving as a graduate assistant for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. In his sixth year with the program overall, Eckburg is enrolled in the educational leadership and policy analysis masters program and will assist UW’s director of basketball operations with scheduling and administrative duties.

In addition to his work with the program on a daily basis, his responsibilities also include assisting coaches with daily needs, and assisting with the editing and breakdown of game film from practice.

Prior to taking over the program assistant duties, Eckburg served as a student-manager for UW, assuming the title of head manager for two seasons in 2014-15 and 2015-16. Eckburg’s four years as a manager coincided with some of the best seasons in UW history, including back-to-back Final Fours and an overall record of 111-37 (.750). The Rockford, Illinois, native also worked the UW Boys Basketball Camps each of the past four summers.

A four-year letterwinner in both basketball and baseball at Boylan High School, Eckburg earned his bachelors degree from Wisconsin in Agricultural Business-Management in 2016.
