2023: Played all 1530:00 minutes in net for the Badgers, allowing 18 goals in 17 games for a goals allowed average of 1.06. Sported a 6-5-6 record with a .705 save percentage. Had seven shutouts in 17 games, leading the Big Ten in shutouts per game. He was a TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week member after starting the season with back-to-back shutouts against Purdue-Fort Wayne (08/24) and Drake (08/27). Also earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after posting a shutout against Ohio State (10/20).
Prior to Wisconsin: Crockford spent his first two seasons at UCLA before transferring to Wisconsin. Nate appeared in four games as a true freshman goalkeeper for UCLA, all of which were the final four games of the year. He maintained a record of 3-1-0 during the 2021 season and the net for the Bruins' two NCAA tournament games. He made a season high 10 saves against Duke in the 2021 NCAA Tournament with his team only playing with 10 men for the majority of the game. As a sophomore, Crockford started in all but one game during the 2022 season and helped lead the Bruins to the third round of the NCAA tournament. Named to the 2022 Pac-12 All-Conference Honorable Mention.
Prior to college he played for the FC United Development Academy and Chicago Fire Academy. He was the top-ranked goalkeeper, and No. 8 player overall, in the Midwest region per TopDrawerSoccer. He spent time training with Aaron Hyde, the Goalkeeper Coach for the U.S. Men’s National Team, is a four-time U.S. National Training Center invitee, and was named a “Player to Watch” at the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Playoffs.
