The Badgers face No. 12 Michigan on Friday night in Ann Arbor
MADISON. Wis. - The Wisconsin men's soccer team (6-7-0, 3-5-0 Big Ten) travels to Ann Arbor for a Halloween showdown against the No. 12 Michigan Wolverines (9-2-3, 5-2-1 Big Ten). Friday's contest is set to begin at 6 p.m. CT.
Here are five things to know about the match:
1 – SENIOR NIGHT SPECIAL – Wisconsin recognized six seniors Saturday night, including Wade Stinson, Alejandro Coury, Sam Green, Bart Muns, Ola Arntsen, and Thomas Raimbault. Energy was high at McClimon, as the Badgers jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals from Roman Eisa and Matthew Zachemski. Thomas Raimbault showed up on Senior Night, earning assists on both goals to lead the Badgers to victory.
2 – HEY THERE HEBERT – Saturday's 2-0 victory over Penn State marked sophomore goalkeeper Matisse Hébert's third shutout of the season, and ninth career shutout. He made three saves in the win, bringing his season total up to 29.
3 – MATTHEW'S SWEET – Sophomore Matthew Zachemski has goals in three of the last six games, all victories, with two of those winning games. He leads the Badgers with five goals and 10 points and has yet to go more than three games without a goal.
4 – SCOUTING THE WOLVERINES – Michigan leads the all-time series against Wisconsin 17-10-6, but the Wolverines have not won a match in the series since November of 2021. The most recent two contests between UW and UM have both ended in 1-1 draws. The Wolverines are 9-2-3 this season, having earned a 3-2 win over then-No. 1 Indiana in September. Michigan is led offensively by sophomore Michael Ramirez with 13 points (5 goals, 3 assists). The Badgers will look to score against junior goalkeeper Isaiah Goldson, who has played in every game, posting a 0.86 goals against average and six shutouts on the season.
