Personal: Parents are Dan and Valerie Beyers ... has one brother, Sam ... father was a four-year starter and captain of nationally ranked American University soccer team ... mother was a four-year starter and captain of American University tennis team ... majoring in electrical engineering.
Trask on Beyers: "Casey is a goalkeeper from the Washington D.C. area and comes highly recommended from Peter Mehlert and former UW goalkeeper Alex Howarth. At 6-5 he has a great physical presence in goal and the staff feels that he will compete from playing time sooner rather than later. Casey is a former UW camper who will represent the fine tradition of student-athletes here in Madison and within the men's soccer program."
Why Wisconsin? "The opportunity to play for a team capable of competing for a national championship at a school with a rigorous engineering and academic program ... there's also a family connection: my grandmother was born in Madison, and my great-grandfather received his PhD in English from UW-Madison."
