Trask on Segbers: "Mark is a game changer, plain and simple. He has athleticism and quality very few players in the United States possess. I believe Mark will be a professional player in the future and a guy who brings enthusiasm and charisma to the team. Having watched Mark compete for the famed Scott Gallagher Club in St. Louis, the sky is the limit for him. Recruiting him has been a pleasure, but now we get to work with him on a daily basis and that is something the staff and I look forward to greatly."
Tiemeyer on Segbers: "Mark has the rare combination of high-end athleticism, technique and passion for the game. His transition is excellent as he is more than willing to put in the work on the defensive side and he truly excels in the attack. Mark comes from a wonderful family and a high school that is second to none. He is a wonderful teammate and will mature into a terrific leader at Wisconsin."
Why Wisconsin? "I chose to go to Wisconsin not only because of the beautiful campus, but also because of the great and rich history of the academic and athletic programs. The University of Wisconsin has top notch academics that offer broad academic opportunities. Another reason I was intrigued by the University was because of the amount of help and guidance that is provided. Knowing there is always someone eager to help you become the best person of your ability genuinely gives you a sense of family. Another place that gives me a sense of family is in the athletic program. The soccer staff truly made a huge impression on me the first time I met with them on my visit to Wisconsin. Not only were they a high-profile staff, but their attention to detail about my play, respect for me as a person and making sure I fit into their program was heartwarming. I also chose Wisconsin for the simple reason of following my gut. At the end of the day, I could see myself being happy, getting a five-star education, growing and developing as a player, and building relationships that will last a lifetime."
