Wisconsin Badgers

Morten Lamps, a three-time All-ACC Academic Honor Roll member (2015-2017), joins the Badgers as a graduate student from Virginia Tech. He attended Kurt-Tucholsky-Schule and played club for Flensburg 08, Holstein Kiel and Red Bull Leipzig Academy. At Virginia Tech, he was 6-2 in nine games with 226 minutes played, 13 saves and a .765 save percentage. Lamps will be working toward a masters degree in International Public Affairs.

Wisconsin has one of the best athletic departments in the country, which makes it more challenging, but also much more interesting for me. I am looking forward to this great academic and athletic opportunity."

Coach Trask: "Morten is a graduate student goalkeeper who joined us form Virginia Tech this spring.  While only having one year of eligibility left Morten brings maturity to the group of keepers and a true strength to the position.  Morten has all the tools to be one of the best keepers in the Big Ten for his remaining year of eligibility.

Coach Tiemeyer: "Morten fills an immediate need in goal opened up by the graduation of fellow German, Phil Schilling.  He possesses good size and presence in the goal.  His distribution is solid and his understanding of the game is top notch.  He will be asked to provide maturity and leadership to the team this coming season."

Goalkeeper Coach, Tim Boruff: Morten joins us for graduate school from Virginia Tech. Originally from Germany, Morten played in one of the top youth academies in the world, Red Bull Leipzig. His experience and maturity will be a huge asset to our program both on and off the field. Morten is a natural leader. He does a great job managing his box, and is very confident claiming crosses.  Morten will compete immediately for the starting position.
