Brett Forman is in his first season as an assistant coach with the Wisconsin men’s tennis program in 2020-21.
Forman joined the Badgers from Princeton, where he had served as a volunteer assistant coach since May of 2020. Prior to that, he spent the 2019-20 campaign as a volunteer assistant at Michigan State, where played collegiately and was a four-time team MVP.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have Brett join our program as our assistant coach mid-year,” UW head coach Danny Westerman said when announcing the addition of Forman in January 2021. “He was a tremendous player at Michigan State playing at the top of their lineup but, more importantly, he is a high-character and hard-working coach.
“He understands the rigor of the Big Ten well and will bring his experience as a player and coach from MSU and Princeton to our guys. I saw his development firsthand when coaching against the Spartans and I know he will bring that same passion for the game he had as a player to our program.”
In addition to his four team MVP honors, Forman was a three-year captain at Michigan State and spent the majority of his career at No. 1 singles. He racked up more than 100 singles wins with the Spartans and earned a national ranking in doubles as a senior.
Forman earned a pair of degrees from Michigan State, graduating with a bachelor's degree in marketing and a master's in sports leadership and coaching.
