Dervon Francis joined Wisconsin Athletics in 2018 and currently serves as the Academic Advisor for Track and Field, Cross Country, Softball and Football. Francis previously served as the Assistant Career & Leadership Coordinator for both the Men’s and Women’s Rowing team and Assistant Academic Advisor for the Football team.

Originally from St. Thomas, Jamaica, Francis joins the Wisconsin staff after spending two years at Western Illinois University and three years at MacMurray College.

During his time at Western Illinois University, Francis served as the Sport Management Graduate Research Assistant, Sport Management Association President, as well as the Academic Advisor/Student-Athlete Development Intern in the Western Illinois University Athletic Department. He was presented with the Gary Sailes North American Society for the Sociology of Sport Graduate Diversity Scholarship in 2017 for his research in the area of sport sociology. Francis graduated with a M.S. in Sport management in 2018.

At MacMurray College, Francis competed for the Highlanders in Football from 2013-16. In addition to being a student-athlete, Francis served as a Career Services Assistant while also volunteering on numerous committees. Francis graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration and Sport Management. He was honored in the 2015-16 academic year for his commitment to leadership, community service, and academics by being presented with the John Austin Van Hook Award for the Student Leader of the Year
