Why Wisconsin?
" It has an amazing mix of everything you could be looking for in a college experience (besides warm weather, of course). The campus, athletics, academics and social life are all top tier."
Off the Field with Katie
My favorite thing about Wisconsin Softball is: That my teammates have become my sisters. I've met my best friends through playing softball at Wisconsin.
Before each game, I: Dance - in the locker room, during warmups, while we're waiting for the game to start, all of the above :)
A non-athletic talent I have is: Memorizing song lyrics
One thing I absolutely have to do before I turn 40: Own a white Sport Range Rover ;)
Favorite Coach quote: Coach Healy always has great quotes about the empowerment of women, which I love.
Most memorable softball achievement or favorite softball moment: Being a part of the team that won the Big Ten Tournament my freshman year
If I could change one softball rule, it would be:Â That you don't have to wait until the pitcher releases the ball to steal
Best UW memory: Roadtripping to the Big Ten Football Championship in Indianapolis this past year with teammates. Although the football team didn't win, it was still an unforgettable experience.
If you were stranded on an island, which two teammates would you bring with you and why? Taylor-Paige Stewart (she's a genius and also my best friend) and Mariah Watts (most entertaining person I've ever met in my life)
Greatest fear: Approaching my sister when she is in a bad mood :)
What song would you put on the soundtrack to your life? "The Soundtrack 2 My Life" by Kid Cudi (hehe)
If you could be a member of any TV-sitcom family, which would it be? Well, I think that my family should have its own sitcom, but if I had to choose, I would be Daenerys Targaryen's sister (Game of Thrones) so I could be a mother of dragons. (I know that's not necessarily a sitcom, but oh well.)
What is your favorite movie line or scene? Favorite scene - when they sing "I'll Make A Man Out of You" in Mulan
What is your favorite book? The Divergent Series (the books are much better than the movies)
Favorite athlete? Either Derek Jeter (I'm still upset he retired) or Hines Ward (former Pittsburgh Steeler who was always smiling)
Best UW road trip? When we played at Rutgers this past year, we took a train from New Jersey to New York City. We explored Times Square, and we even had our own tour guide (Mariah's mom, who lives in NYC)!!
Favorite team to play? Michigan, since my younger sister is on the team!

What does it mean to be a Badger?
"It means being able to represent one of the best universities in the country, both on and off the field. Wearing the motion W on your chest is an incredibly humbling experience because of all the amazing Badger accomplishments in the past and future."
