Jason Frausto joins the women’s basketball team for his first season in 2015-16. Previously, he spent almost two years at the United States Tennis Association as a Coordinator of Coaching Education and Performance. In that role, he was responsible for working with more than 40 ATP and WTA tour professional players, aspiring professionals and their coaches on tennis technique and tactics. As part of the coaching education department, he traveled across the United States conducting coaching education workshops for some of the best coaches in the country.
Jason filmed courtside for over 200 hours at the 2014 and 2015 US Open, one of the largest tennis events in the world. In addition, he created professional video content featured on multiple USTA social media channels. He also worked directly with Sony Corporation to provide quality assurance testing for their Smart Tennis Sensor technology. He did this leading up to its release in North America in 2015.
Before joining the United States Tennis Association, Jason spent 15 years teaching tennis in Wisconsin. He worked primarily with junior players, using high speed video analysis to improve their technique and tactics. Jason owns and operates TennisUnleashed.net, one of the world’s largest online tennis instructional websites. He also serves as a Digital Content Producer for DanishMakes.com.
Jason’s primary duties as part of the video services department are to oversee all coaching video for UW women’s basketball, men's tennis and women's tennis. His primary duties include video production and editing; training, directing and guiding student employees and planning, collaborating, and organizing upcoming video projects in the Athletic Department. Jason received a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and a Master of Science in Recreation, Sport and Tourism at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
