2022-23: Saw the ice in all 41 games for the UW, recording 37 points … ranked third on the team in assists with 25 … enjoyed a four-point outing on two goals and two assists in the win over Penn State on Sept. 23 … posted a career-high five points against Bemidji State on Dec. 2 … tallied 100th career assist against Quinnipiac on Dec. 31 … played her school-record 175th game against Colgate on March 11 … gave UW the lead with a goal against Minnesota in the national semifinal on March 17 … completed the season with a +32 plus-minus rating
2021-22: Appeared in all 38 games for UW, recording 8 goals and 20 assists ... tallied two goals in UW's 6-0 win against St. Cloud State on Oct. 9 ... enjoyed a four-point weekend at St. Thomas on Nov. 20 and 21 ... named WCHA All-Academic
2020-21: Played in all 21 games with the National Championship team... named to the Preseason All-WCHA Team... scored 50th career goal and 100th career point in season-opening series at Ohio State... WCHA Forward of the Week on Nov. 30... recorded 25 points with 12 goals and 13 assists over the season... five assists were on game-winning goals... scored game-winning goal against Minnesota on Jan. 15... put up two goals at Ohio State on Nov. 28, St. Cloud State on Jan. 23 and against Providence in the NCAA Semifinal game... three assists against Minnesota on Jan. 16... finished second in the WCHA for point scoring and third in goal scoring... also third in the WCHA for assist scoring... finished fourth in the WCHA with a +18 plus/minus rating... named WCHA All-Academic
2019-20: Despite a playoff schedule that ended early before the Badgers’ 2020 NCAA quarterfinal game against Clarkson, Shirley played in all 36 games this season helping UW to a WCHA regular season title … had a team high of 29 goals and recorded 32 assists for a 61-point season, second most points on the team … tallied six power-play goals to help UW set a program record of 35.2 power-play goals … scored an empty-netter in UW’s 4-1 win in the semifinal round of the 2020 WCHA Final Faceoff (March 7) … had a seven-point weekend in UW’s sweep of St. Cloud State (Feb. 1-2), recording a pair of goals and two assists just in UW’s home-record 11-1 win over St. Cloud State (Feb. 2) … netted the overtime game-winning goal in UW’s 5-4 OT win over No. 2 Minnesota at home (Jan. 24) … collected her 20th goal just one minute into UW’s 3-2 win against Bemidji State (Jan. 10) … snatched two goals against the Minnesota Duluth in UW’s 5-2 win (Dec. 7) … had a three-goal weekend against St.Cloud State (Nov. 22-23) including an empty-netter in UW’s 5-3 win over St. Cloud State (Nov. 23) … held a five-game goal streak (Oct. 18-27) and had tallied at least one point in every game from Sept. 27-Nov. 2 … earned her first career hat-trick against LIU in UW’s 12-0 win (Oct. 19) after taking the game-winning goal the day before in UW’s 10-2 win (Oct. 18) … notched her 50th career point on a goal during UW’s 7-3 win against OSU (Oct. 12) … tallied a three-point game thanks to two goals in the first game of the season, a 4-0 win over Lindenwood (Sept. 27) … ended with a +36 rating for second on the team
2018-19: A member of the 2019 National Championship team, Shirley had a dominant freshman season. Named the WCHA Rookie of the Year after posting 38 points off of 20 goals and 18 assists in 41 games. Shirley had three, three-point games this season, including a one goal/two assist performance in a 5-2 win at top-10 ranked Ohio State on Jan. 12. Shirley tallied a clutch goal in Wisconsin's 3-2 victory at the WCHA Final Faceoff semifinal against Ohio State on Mar. 9. Her 38 points rank No. 10 in school history among rookie scorers, while Shirley's +36 plus/minus rating was the top mark of any rookie skater in the NCAA.Â
Prep: Played for the Saskatoon Stars in the Saskatchewan Female Midget Hockey League her freshman and sophomore seasons… earned Rookie of the Year and second-team all-star honors after leading the team in points with 29… helped the Stars to the 2015 Provincial championship and earned MVP and first-team all-star league honors her sophomore year… also competed in the 2015 Esso Cup, winning bronze and earning MVP and Top Scorer honors… played for the Notre Dame Hounds in the JWHL her junior season… third in scoring for Notre Dame and 12th in JWHL scoring… named to the JWHL first all-star team… appeared in the 2016 JWHL All-Star Game… played for Okanagan Hockey Academy during her senior year, leading the team with 32 goals and 60 points in 36 games… spent a year playing professional hockey in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League with the Calgary Inferno, scoring eight goals and 19 points, and earning CWHL Rookie of the Year honors…member of the Canada U-18 Women’s WJC in 2016, tallying five points in five games to help the squad to a silver medal… attended the Hockey Canada Senior National Camp last September… represented Hockey Canada in a two-game series against the United States in January of 2017… placed on the U-18 squad for the 2017 IIHF World Championships
Personal: Parents are Tim and Carol Shirley… has two brothers, Keenan and Collin, and one sister, Grace… intends to major in physical education or occupational therapy… also competed in soccer, volleyball, golf, tennis, softball, badminton and track and field in high school and was a two-time member of the Honor Roll.
