International: Invited to 2018 Under 23 Women's National Team Selection Camp
2018-19: Rowed in five seat of the varsity eight and placed second behind No. 7 Princeton while defeating No. 14 Rutgers and Columbia at the Princeton Regatta (April 27) ... sat five seat in the varsity eight at the Big Ten Double Dual against No. 13 Iowa and No. 20 Indiana (April 13) ... Raced in five seat with the varsity eight at the Pac-12 Invite, defeating No. 11 USC and dropping races to No. 1 Cal and No. 3 Stanford (March 30-31) ... sat five seat with the varsity eight and placed second at the Cardinal Invitational (March 17)
2017-18: Sat five seat with second varsity eight and placed 13th in NCAA Championships (May 26) ... rowed five seat with second varsity eight and placed fourth at the Big Ten championships (May 13) ... raced five seat with second varsity eight and placed first at Princeton/Syracuse (April 28) ... sat five seat with second varsity eight and placed fourth at Clemson Invitational (April 14) ... rowed five seat with second varsity eight and placed first at Frozen/Sunshine Regatta (March 31)
2016-17: Sat five seat to help the second varsity eight take sixth at the 2017 NCAA Rowing Championships ... placed fifth at the Big Ten Championship with the varsity eight (5/15) … raced with the varsity eight at the Clemson invite, placing fifth (4/23) … sat five seat in two races at the Big Ten Double Dual (4/8) … rowed the varsity four to first- and third-place finishes at the San Diego Crew Classic (4/2) … took first at Minnesota with the novice eight (5/1), as well as taking a pair of wins at the Big Ten/Big 12 Invitational (4/23)
2015-16: Raced regularly with the novice eight, securing a win at Minnesota (5/1) and sweeps of the Big Ten/ Big 12 Invitational (4/23) and the Big Ten Double Dual (4/9)... sat four seat with the eight that placed first at Head of the Rock (10/12)
High School: Competed four years in rowing … placed second at the 2014 Junior Nationals in the four with coxswain … placed fifth at the 2013 Junior Nationals in 2013
Personal: Parents are Katie O’Rourke and Michael Gibbons … majoring in community and non-profit leadership
Reason for choosing UW-Madison: I could really see myself here when I came on my official visit, not only was the team amazing but the school offered everything I was looking for in terms of size and academic opportunities.
What Wisconsin rowing means to you: Wisconsin rowing means team. It means a place that I can go and work hard every day doing something I love. While transitioning to a new school and team are never easy, I’ve enjoyed my time here so far and can’t wait to race this spring.
