Men's Cross Country Remains Fourth

The University of Wisconsin men's cross country team is ranked fourth for the fourth consecutive poll in the Mondo Men's Cross Country Rankings, conducted by the United States Cross Country Coaches Association, released Oct. 30.
The Badgers are coming off the team title in the 2001 Big Ten Conference Championship, running by 11th-ranked Michigan and 19th-ranked Michigan State for their third consecutive league title.
Colorado, which finished second in the 2000 NCAA Championship, is ranked first for the fifth consecutive poll and receives 13 of 16 first-place votes. Stanford stays in second and defending NCAA champion Arkansas remains third. Wisconsin and Great Lakes Regional-foe Notre Dame round out the top five teams, respectively
The Badgers will be seeking their 30th NCAA Championship appearance when they compete at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Saturday, Nov. 10 in Terre Haute, Ind. The men's 10,000-meter race begins at 11 a.m. EDT, on the LaVern Gibson Championship Course located at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center.
Wisconsin is the two-time defending Great Lakes Regional champion, winning the 2000 title with 75 points, but will be challenged by fifth-ranked Notre Dame. The top two teams in the regional will automatically qualify for the NCAA Championship on Monday, Nov. 18 in Greenville, N.C.
