Bollinger Tabbed by Big Ten
October 30, 2002 | Football
Senior Brooks Bollinger was named Big Ten co-Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in last Saturday's 42-24 victory at Michigan State.
Bollinger, the first UW quarterback to earn conference player of the week honors since Darrell Bevell in 1995, tied a school record by accounting for five touchdowns (three passing, two rushing) against the Spartans. The win was also the school-record 28th of his Wisconsin career.
Bollinger, already one of seven players in Big Ten history to rush for 20 touchdowns and pass for 30 touchdowns in a career, now needs just two victories to join six others as the only quarterbacks in league history with 30 wins.
The Badgers travel to ninth-ranked Iowa on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 11:05 a.m. and the game will be televised live on ESPN.
