NCAA Central Regional Golf Final Results

Wisconsin junior Jon Turcott made the most of his NCAA tournament opportunity finishing 62nd in the 54-hole Central Regional concluded today at Little Rock, Ark.
In team action, Oklahoma State, who was in first place in all three rounds and Purdue rallied from a first-round fifth-place finish as the Cowboys and Boilermakers finished as co-champions at Pleasant Valley Country Club. Purdue shot 290-279-296-865, while OSU recorded 287-281-297-865.
Purdue's Lee Williamson was the top individual, carding 70-67-72 for a seven-under par 209. Williamson's birdie on his final hole sealed the first-place tie for Purdue. Bret Guetz of TCU, who led after shooting a four-under 68 on the first round, tied with Williamson's teammate Chris Mayson for second place.
Turcott, playing in his first NCAA tournament as an individual qualifier, shot a 75 in the final round to finish tied for 62nd with a 10-over 77 -74 '75- 226. Turcott began the tournament in 84th place. He is the first Badger NCAA regional qualifier since 1994.
The top 10 teams from each of three regional tournaments across the country advance to the NCAA National Golf Championships in Columbus, Ohio. All three regionals produced co-champions today: Oklahoma State and Purdue at the Central; Clemson and Georgia Tech in the East; and New Mexico and Washington in the West.
