Badgers Accept Bid to Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl

The Wisconsin football team has accepted an invitation to play in the 2003 Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl in Nashville, Tenn., Wisconsin Director of Athletics Pat Richter announced.
The game will be played on Wednesday, Dec. 31, at The Coliseum, home of the NFL's Tennessee Titans. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CST. ESPN will televise the game live between the Badgers and a Southeastern Conference opponent.
'We've had discussions with the Music City Bowl the past couple of weeks and we're pleased to accept their invitation,' said Richter. 'Our institution is excited about going to Nashville. We have heard great things about the Music City Bowl experience from the Big Ten. I lived in Nashville for a couple years, and I know the community will welcome our fans and team. And I know our marching band is a good match for a great music city like Nashville.'
Wisconsin (7-5 overall, 4-4 Big Ten) joins Michigan and Ohio State as the only three Big Ten schools to have qualified for a bowl game in nine of the past 11 years. The Badgers are 7-1 (.875) in eight previous bowl appearances under Coach Barry Alvarez.
GAYLORD HOTELS MUSIC CITY BOWL TICKET INFORMATION
Tickets for the Music City Bowl ' which are priced at $65 and $45 each ' can be ordered by calling 1-800-GO-BADGERS or 608-262-1440, going on-line at www.uwbadgers.com or stopping by the Athletic Ticket Office at Gate B of the Kohl Center (normal hours Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). The Athletic Ticket Office will be closed Thursday (Nov. 27) for Thanksgiving.
Season ticket holders and donors have priority to purchase tickets beginning today (Nov. 26) through Dec. 1. Those individuals can refer to the bowl application they received recently in the mail.
The sale of Music City Bowl tickets to the general public begins Dec. 2 (by phone, on-line or at the Athletic Ticket Office) at 8:30 a.m. UW-Madison student season ticket holders can purchase tickets on Dec. 9-10 by going on-line at www.uwbadgers.com or by stopping in person at the Athletic Ticket Office.
