Badgers Defeated by Wildcats, 141-119

The No. 10 Wisconsin women's swimming and diving team fell to the No. 3 Arizona Wildcats today, with a score of 141-119. The women are now 3-1-0 overall this season.
'I was really pleased with the way the team stepped up today,' head coach Eric Hansen said. 'The women kept it a very close meet.'
The women were led by Anna Trinidad (Colorado Springs, Colo.), winning the 200-yard freestyle (1:50.93) and 400-yard individual medley (4:20.57). Teammate Susan Johnson (Toledo, Ohio) took first in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:01.09, while Trinidad came in a close second at 2:01.18.
Wisconsin also claimed victories from Sierra Lewis (Bend, Ore.) in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.47), Amalia Sarnecki (Ann Arbor, Mich.) in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:16.47) and Carly Piper (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich.) in the 500-yard freestyle (5:00.65) and the 1000-yard freestyle (9:54.77).
The diving team was led by Cassie Kubly (Middleton, Wis.), taking sixth on the 1-meter board (227.62) and fourth on the 3-meter board (283.13).
'Cassie Kubly had the best meet of her career in consistency,' diving coach Josh Seykora said. 'Her scores qualified for NCAA Zone C.'
The Badgers resume competition at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13 at Northwestern.
