Erlana Larkins(North Carolina/Riviera Beach, Fla.) was likewise solid, posting nine points and nine rebounds, andCourtney Paris(Piedmont H.S./Piedmont, Calif.) recorded eight points. The U.S. owned a 40-25 advantage on the glass, including 19 offensive rebounds.
"We talked about the fact that if they played in a 2-3 zone they would have a difficult time keeping us off the offensive glass. Our posts did a tremendous job of attacking the glass and when they did we got the rebound and got some of their players into foul trouble which was really to our benefit," stated Goestenkors.
"I think our posts have been very, very consistent for us and on our perimeter we've had different players step up each and every night and it has been more than one player on every occasion. It's nice to know if somebody's not hitting their shot or gets into foul trouble, which was the case tonight, we've got other players willing and able to step up."
