Before heading south to Orlando for the Champs Sports Bowl, six seniors from the UW football team had some business to attend to. athid=5251&deptid=111"> --> Jason Chapman , athid=6164&deptid=111"> --> Allan Evridge , athid=5756&deptid=111"> --> Ryan Flasch , athid=5533&deptid=111"> --> Andy Kemp , athid=5255&deptid=111"> --> Allen Langford and athid=5179&deptid=111"> --> Dave Peck were among the students that graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison on Sunday.
'It means a lot to graduate from such a great university,' said Langford. 'To be a student-athlete and have the opportunity to earn a degree has been such a privilege and I'm proud to be able to say I'm a graduate of Wisconsin.'
Of the six graduates, Evridge, Flasch and Kemp were all members of the Big Ten 's All-Academic team this season. To receive the conference honor a student-athlete must be a letterwinner in at least his second academic season carrying a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
'It's an honor as an athlete to get a degree since there are a lot of athletes in the country that don't graduate,' said Kemp. 'I 'm really happy I had the chance to come to Wisconsin and get my work done and earn the degree. I'm happy to be graduating and I'm proud for the other guys getting their degrees too.'
Wisconsin Athletics congratulates and wishes the best of luck to all the recent Wisconsin graduates.
