
White defeats Red, 7-0

The Wisconsin softball team held its annual Red/White Scrimmage Sunday morning at Goodman Diamond where the White squad defeated the Red team 7-0. Out-hitting the Red squad 8-4, the White squad scored five of its seven runs in the 6th and 7th innings.
'I really liked the way we looked today,' said Head Coach staffid=601"> --> Chandelle Schulte . 'We did a lot of good things out there and our three freshmen all played well. We saw some good things, but there is still a lot to work on before we open play this spring.'
athid=6115&deptid=126"> --> Katie Soderberg scored a team-high three runs, while athid=6663&deptid=126"> --> Kristyn Hansen lead the team with 2 RBIs. The Red team was paced by freshman athid=7384&deptid=126"> --> Eileen Garcia who had the first hit of the game and later pitched three innings in relief.
athid=5725&deptid=126"> --> Leah Vanevenhoven was the starting pitcher for the White team, while athid=6114&deptid=126"> --> Letty Olivarez took the mound for the Red team. E. Garcia and Hansen both saw three innings of action during the scrimmage.
Wisconsin will close out its Fall Season as it hosts Heartland College in a double-header on Thursday. The first game is set to start at 4 p.m. at Goodman Diamond.
