Devin Harris continues to amaze with half-court game-winner
February 24, 2009 | Men's Basketball
Former Wisconsin standout Devin Harris added another chapter to his storybook season Monday night. The 2009 NBA All-Star swished a half-court game-winning shot as time expired to lift the N.J. Nets to a 98-96 win over the Sixers.
Trailing by one point at 96-95 with just 1.8 seconds remaining, Harris took the in-bounds looking to get a shot off before the buzzer. After one dribble, Harris lost control of the ball, but regained possession just in time to fling a running half-court shot that found nothing but net for the win.
Referees took several minutes to re-examine the play and make sure Harris released the ball prior to the buzzer, but determined that the shot was good. With a game-high 39 points and the improbable game-winner, Harris' legend continues to grow.
