
Wisconsin men ranked sixth in USTFCCCA national poll

MADISON, Wis.-- Following a second-place team finish at the Bill Dellinger Invitational on Oct. 16, the Wisconsin men's cross country team moved up five spots in the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national poll, released on Oct. 19.
After previously ranking 11th, Wisconsin now finds itself ranked sixth in the nation.
Ranking above the UW men in the USTFCCCA national poll are No. 1 Stanford, second-ranked Oklahoma State and No. 3 Oregon. The Ducks won their own Bill Dellinger Invitational, just edging out the Badgers for a first-place finish.
Coming in at No. 4 is Iona, followed by Oklahoma to round out the top five teams.
At the Bill Dellinger Invitational, sophomore Maverick Darling made his season debut and led the Badgers with a fourth-place finish, with a personal-best time of 23:42.82.
Contributing to the team's runner-up finish was senior Landon Peacock, junior Elliot Krause, and sophomore Reed Connor. Peacock claimed fifth place, clocking in at 23:44.73. Krause and Connor took sixth and seventh place, respectively, with Krause finishing in a time of 23:45.63 and Connor in a time of 23:50.66.
Wisconsin returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 31, as they host the Big Ten Championships at the Zimmer Championship Course.
