Wisconsin then took a timeout to regroup and make a goalie change, putting in senior Alannah McCready (Blaine, Minn.).
The Badgers converted for the first time of the contest when junior Kelly Nash (Bonita, Calif.) took a shot from the slot that hit hard off MSU’s Alli Altmann’s pads. From the left face-off circle, freshman Brianna Decker (Dousman, Wis.) capitalized on the rebound and sent the puck over Altmann’s right shoulder.

The Badgers answered early in the third period, with 15:03 left in the contest when junior Mallory Deluce (London, Ontario) took a shot and freshman Stefanie McKeough (Carlsbad Springs, Ontario) capitalized on the rebound and sent the puck top shelf. The goal marked McKeough’s first career goal as a Badger.
At the 9:12 mark, Zrust converted to increase the Mavericks’ lead back to three with a 5-2 advantage.
