MADISON, Wis. – USA Hockey announced its 2025 U.S. Collegiate Women's Select Team this Sunday, with five current Badgers making the team.Â
Senior Vivian Jungels, juniors Kelly Gorbatenko, Laney Potter and Cassie Hall, and sophomore Maggie Scannell were all selected for Team USA.Â
The rivalry series puts the best collegiate women's hockey players from the U.S. and Canada against each other in a three-game series that take place on August 13, 14 and 16.
Jungels, Hall and Potter each represented the squad in 2024, where Team USA won the series 2-1. Jungels collected two points in the series, while Hall assisted the game-winning goal in the decisive game three matchup.
Gorbatenko and Scannell join the roster for the first time. Both of them previously played for Team USA's U18 team in the 2022 IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship, earning silver medals.
The five Badgers are set to face off against three of their Wisconsin teammates, with Ava Murphy, Rhyah Stewart and Emma Venusio all donning the red and white for Team Canada.Â
The rivalry series takes place in Lake Placid, New York, and begins Wednesday, August 13 at 4:30 p.m. (CT).
