MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin women's soccer team suffered its first Big Ten loss of the season on Sunday as Ohio State beat the Badgers, 1-0, in front of 624 fans at McClimon Soccer Complex's PAC the MAC event.

The loss ends the Badgers' four-game unbeaten streak in the Big Ten, dropping the team's record to 2-1-2 in conference play and 7-4-2 overall. Ohio State (8-4-1, 3-1-1) became the third team to shut out the Badgers in 2011.

 Fast Facts
• Badgers' Big Ten unbeaten streak ends at four games
• UW shut out for the third time in 2011
• Nosbusch registers team-high three shots

Ohio State out-shot the Badgers 13-9 in the contest, including a 4-3 edge in shots on goal. The three shots on net for UW tied for their second-fewest in a game this season, matching the total against Notre Dame on Aug. 19. Wisconsin's lowest output came on Sept. 17 when they put two shots on goal in a 1-0 win over Penn State.

"I think we were a little unlucky and a little unfocused when we did have our chances," senior forward Laurie Nosbusch said. "I know I had a few that I'm going to look back and regret probably because I wasn't 100 percent focused in taking them."

Ohio State was the aggressor in the first half, outshooting the Badgers, 7-2. However, UW goalkeeper Michele Dalton stopped the two shots that landed on net and the game was scoreless at intermission.

Less than three minutes into the second half, the Buckeyes scored the lone goal of the game.

At the 47:50 mark, Liz Sullivan sent a corner kick to the left side of the box, where it was headed by Kristen Niederhaus to Tiffany Cameron who scored her fifth goal of the season.

"It was just a breakdown in focus," senior defender Meghan Flannery said about OSU's goal. "We need to make sure we are always tight on our marks, and on that one we just lost focus."

After Ohio State's goal, the Badgers upped the pressure and finished the second half with a 7-6 advantage in shots, including a 3-1 mark in shots on net. However, the team was unable to find the back of the net.

Nosbusch led the Badgers with three shots in the game, while she was joined by Alexandra Heller and Paige Adams in putting shots on net.

Dalton stopped three shots for Wisconsin, as did Ohio State's Katie Baumgardner.

"We just need to get back on track," Nosbusch said. "There is no more motivation in the world than knowing that you're scraping to try to get into the Big Ten tournament.

"That's going to be our motivation and that's what is going to drive us to go out and get a win against Nebraska."

The Badgers are back in action next weekend with a single contest at Nebraska on Friday. The game in Lincoln starts at 4 p.m. (CT).
