Postgame Notes
Wisconsin vs. Penn State
Nov. 26, 2011
Camp Randall Stadium – Madison, Wis.

Team Notes
•    With the win today, Wisconsin claims the Leaders Division and advances to the Big Ten Football Championship game in Indianapolis next Saturday.

•    The Badgers have won 16 consecutive games at Camp Randall Stadium, the third-longest home winning streak in school history. It is the second-longest active streak in the country (LSU – 17).

•    With 10 wins on the season, the Badgers have reached double-digit wins in three-consecutive seasons for the first time in school history.

•    Wisconsin finished 7-0 at home for the second-consecutive season, the second time in school history UW has posted back-to-back undefeated home seasons (2006-07).

•    Wisconsin averaged 51.3 points per game in its seven home games this season while allowing an average of just 10.7 points – an average margin of victory of 40.6 points per game.

•    The Badgers won their 10th-straight game over a Big Ten opponent at home, with an average margin of victory of 36.5 points in that span.

•    UW finished with a scoring average of 43.0 points in Big Ten games, which ranks No. 4 in league history.

•    In Big Ten play, Wisconsin has converted 16 of its 19 turnovers gained into touchdowns. The Badgers converted three Penn State's four turnovers into TDs today.

•    The Badgers went 6-for-6 in the red zone, scoring five touchdowns. The Badgers saw their nation-leading red zone touchdown percentage dip slightly to 86.2% on the season.

•    Wisconsin scored 28 points in the first half. The most Penn State had given up in a game entering today was 27 to Alabama.

•    This was the Badgers’ largest win over Penn State. The largest margin of victory before today was a 24-3 win in 1998. The previous high for the Badgers in points against PSU was 31 in 2002.

•    For the second-consecutive week, Wisconsin held its opponent scoreless in the second half. The Badgers also shut out Illinois in the second half of last week’s 28-17 win.

•    Wisconsin’s 45 points were the most scored on Penn State since the Nittany Lions absorbed a 45-6 loss to Ohio State in 2000.

Individual Notes
•    Junior RB Montee Ball tied a career-high with four TDs today, doing it for the fourth time in his career and second time this season.

•    Ball has scored at least one TD in 18-straight games and has at least two TDs every game this season. That breaks an NCAA record of 11-straight two TD games held by Barry Sanders.

•    Ball now has 34 touchdowns on the season, second-most in NCAA history and trailing only Sanders’ 39 TDs in 1988.

•    Ball’s 29 rushing TDs on the year are a new Big Ten record, breaking the mark of 26 held by Anthony Thompson (Indiana, 1988) and Ki-Jana Carter (Penn State, 1994).

•    Ball finished with 25 rushes for 156 yards, his eighth 100-yard performance of the season and 14th of his career.

•    Senior QB Russell Wilson has thrown at least one TD pass in 36-straight games, tying the NCAA record held by Graham Harrell of Texas Tech. Wilson extended his Badger record for TD passes in a season to 28 (old record was 21 by John Stocco in 2005).

•    Senior WR Nick Toon caught his ninth TD pass of the season to move into a tie for second place on UW’s single-season list (tied with father, Al Toon, and Lee Evans). He has 17 TD receptions in his career, fifth-best in UW history and two behind his father, Al, (and Jonathan Orr) for a share of third place. Wisconsin is now 12-0 when Toon catches a TD pass.

•    Sophomore WR Jared Abbrederis caught his sixth TD pass of the season and ninth of his career.

•    Junior SS Shelton Johnson recorded his third interception of the season and second in two games, picking off Matt McGloin in the first quarter. That set up Wisconsin’s second TD.

•    Sophomore Conor O’Neill recorded his first career forced fumble and fumble recovery on a PSU kickoff return late in the second quarter, setting up Wisconsin’s fourth TD.
