WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Wisconsin had its eyes on another come-from-behind win, but 11th-ranked Purdue had other ideas Wednesday.
Senior forward Jon Leuer scored a game-high 23 points and junior guard Jordan Taylor added 15 for the No. 10 Badgers, powering a rally that saw UW draw within two points inside the final four minutes of a physical Big Ten Conference battle.
In the end, however, JaJuan Johnson's 20 points and another 19 from E'Twaun Moore were enough for the Boilermakers to hold off the late charge and score a 70-62 win at Mackey Arena.
Lewis Jackson added 18 points and five assists for the Boilermakers. Jackson scored just one point when Wisconsin beat Purdue 66-59 at home on Feb. 1.
The win moved Purdue (21-5, 10-3 Big Ten) into sole possession of second place in the conference standings, while the Badgers (19-6, 9-4) -- who saw their four-game win streak snapped -- now sit alone in third.

Purdue's victory also snapped the Badgers' streak of 24 consecutive games without allowing an opponent to score 70 points. Wisconsin was the lone NCAA Division I team to not surrender 70 points this season.
Looking to mimic the second-half rallies that powered it to consecutive wins over Iowa and then-No. 1 Ohio State last week, Wisconsin put together an 18-7 run over 7 1/2 minutes of the final period. That spurt whittled what had been a 13-point lead for the Boilermakers to a slim, 58-56 edge with 3:55 to play.
Leuer had seven points early in the run, with Taylor contributing five points and Evans another four to help quiet the sellout crowd.
A pair of free throws by Evans capped the run, but Moore stopped the rally with a floater and then a 3-pointer that pushed the Purdue lead back to 63-56 with just more than 2 minutes left.
Wisconsin led 10-4 in the first half before Purdue responded with a 14-4 run. Moore gave Purdue its first lead with a 3-pointer after Jackson flipped the ball back to him on a fast break.
Leuer picked up his second foul with 7:42 left in the first half, and Wisconsin didn't make a field goal for nearly 4 1/4 minutes. A layup and 3-pointer by Jackson helped Purdue push its lead to 29-22, and the Boilermakers led 31-25 at halftime.
Early in the second half, Jackson got a steal and started a fast break. Moore took off from the side, cocked the ball behind his head with his right hand and slammed it home to give Purdue a 35-27 lead and send the crowd into a frenzy.
Purdue took off on another fast break, and Kelsey Barlow scored and was fouled. He converted the free throw to give the Boilermakers a 44-34 lead.
Leuer kept Wisconsin in the game. He scored seven points during a 9-2 run that trimmed Purdue's lead to 53-47.
Leuer and Taylor combined to shoot 16-for-27 from the field, but the rest of the Badgers were 8-for-32.
Wisconsin now returns to the Kohl Center, where it has won 17 consecutive home games, to host Penn State at 5 p.m. Sunday. The game will air live on the Big Ten Network.
