AUSTIN, Texas -- After Wisconsin jumped out to a 1-0 lead, Texas proved why it's ranked No. 13 in the country.

The Longhorns a pair home runs to muscle their way past the Badgers, 15-1 in five innings, in the opening game of the Texas Invitational.

 Fast Facts

Texas scored in each of the first four innings, while the Badgers mustered only two hits and committed four errors in the loss.

Wisconsin briefly held the lead in the contest, scratching across a run in the top of the first.

With one out, Jennifer Krueger singled and advanced to second on a throwing error. Shannel Blackshear then followed with a single up the middle to give UW the early lead.

Texas came right back though and put across three runs to take a lead it would not give back.

The Longhorns added five runs in the second inning and six more in the third before tacking on a 15th and final run in the fourth.

Sophomore pitcher Meghan Mcintosh made her season debut but surrendered eight runs, five of which were earned, in one and a third innings of work.

Freshman Amanda Najdek made her Badger debut in relief of McIntosh, pitching the final two and two thirds of an innings.

The Badgers return to action on Friday against Colorado State at 4 p.m. (CT).
