• UW-Whitewater Results  |  Northern Iowa Results

MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin women's tennis team defeated both Northern Iowa and UW-Whitewater at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium on Saturday. The Badgers defeated the Panthers, 6-1, and the Warhawks, 7-0. UW is now 8-0 at home this season.

Wisconsin won every doubles match and all but one singles match against the Panthers and Warhawks.

Freshman Jenny Hois won two matches at No. 1 singles, defeating Northern Iowa's Phoebe Walker and UW-Whitewater's Kalla Schaefer in straight sets. Hois is now 2-1 at No. 1 singles this season.

Redshirt junior Alaina Trgovich also won two matches Saturday, defeating UNI's Lara Okicki, 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (1), and UW-Whitewater's Annie Smith, 6-3, 6-0. Trgovich is now 8-5 in singles play on the season.

Sophomore Hannah Berner went undefeated as well against Northern Iowa and UW-Whitewater, including a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles against UW-Whitewater's Amy Siemon. Berner holds a team-best 11-4 record this season. 

Senior Jessica Seyferth won both of her matches at No. 4 and 5 singles. She defeated UNI's Chelsea Moore, 7-5, 6-4 at the No. 5 spot and UW-Whitewater's Megan Kasten, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Seyferth has a 9-5 record on the season.

Junior Lauren Gruber (No. 5 singles) and freshman Caroline Bauer (No. 6 singles) each earned a singles victory against Northern Iowa opponents and junior Aleksandra Markovic won a No. 6 singles match against a UW-Whitewater opponent.

Freshman Nicky Stracar dropped her only match of the afternoon to Northern Iowa's Laia Gonzalez-Garrido, 7-5, 2-6, 0-1 (4).

Berner and Seyferth won their 12th and 13th doubles match of the year with victories over Northern Iowa at No. 2 doubles and UW-Whitewater at No. 1 doubles.

Markovic and Trgovich also won both of their doubles matches on Saturday.

The Badgers will take on No. 11 Northwestern tomorrow in Evanston, Ill.  at 11 a.m. (CT).
