MINNEAPOLIS - The top-seeded Badgers earned a place in the WCHA Final Face-off championship game, defeating No. 4-seeded North Dakota, 3-0, in the first semifinal game of the league tournament at Ridder Arena Friday afternoon.
Seniors Kelly Nash (Bonita, Calif.) and Mallory Deluce (London, Ontario) led the Badgers (33-2-2) past North Dakota (20-13-2) as each tallied two points. Deluce earned a goal and an assist, while Nash registered a pair of helpers.

Freshman Alex Rigsby (Delafield, Wis.) earned her seventh career shutout, stopping 19 shots by UND, while Stephanie Ney falls to 16-7-2 after making 31 saves in goal for the Fighting Sioux.
The teams skated through a scoreless first period before Wisconsin opened up with three second-period goals.
Junior Carolyne Prevost (Sarnia, Ontario) scored the eventual game-winner at the 6:18 mark to give Wisconsin a 1-0 lead. After breaking out of neutral ice with the puck, Deluce and Nash connected with Prevost on a nice three-way passing play before Prevost finished with her 17th goal of the year.
With 8:32 to play in the second period, Wisconsin took a two-goal lead as sophomore Brianna Decker (Dousman, Wis.) scored her third shorthanded goal of the season after getting a pass from senior Meghan Duggan (Danvers, Mass.).
Deluce buried a power-play tally as Wisconsin then took a 3-0 with 1:46 remaining in the middle frame. Senior Geena Prough (Farmington, Mich.) and Nash set up the play as Nash logged her second assist of the night.
The Badgers will face the winner of the matchup between No. 2-seeded Minnesota Duluth and No. 3-seeded Minnesota on Saturday night in the WCHA Final Face-off championship game. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. (CT), and fans can follow the action with the live Gameday Blog.
