
Badgers fifth at the Big Ten Championships entering final round

GLENCOE, Ill. - Heading into the final day of the 72-hole Big Ten Women's Golf Championships, the UW women's golf team is in fifth place, carding a 303-296-305=904. The Badgers were tied for first after the first round was completed on a rain-interrupted Friday, but slid to fifth with the completion of the second and third rounds on Saturday.
Michigan State is in first place at 891, leading Purdue by two stokes. Ohio State (900) is third, followed by Northwestern (901) and the Badgers (904).
Michigan State's Caroline Powers and Purdue's Numa Gulyanamitta are tied for the individual lead at an even-par 216. Powers shot a 72-70-74=216, while Gulyanamitta shot a 74-71-71=216.
Carly Werwie, Alexis Nelson, and Kris Yoo all lead the Badgers at 227, sitting in a tie for 12th place. Werwie shot a 79-72-76=227, Nelson a 77-72-78=227, while Yoo carded a 74-77-76=227.
Lindsay Danielson is tied for 18th place, shooting a 78-75-75=228. Alyssa Elliott is tied for 46th with a 77-80-81=238, while Jessie Gerry is 51st with a 75-80-84=239.
The Big Ten Championships, held at the par 72, 6,303-yard Lake Shore Country Club will conclude with 18 holes on Sunday starting at 8 a.m. (CT).
