MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin scored in the second, third and fourth innings en route to a 5-1 win in game two of a doubleheader against Green Bay.

The victory earned the Badgers (27-22, 6-10 Big Ten) a split after the Phoenix (21-22, 7-13 Horizon League) took game one, 5-1.

Wisconsin trailed 1-0 after the first inning before winning. It was their school-record 15th comeback victory of the season.

 Fast Facts
• Badgers notch school-record 15th comeback win of season
• Massei triples twice to set UW single-game, single-season marks
• McIntosh gives up just one run in complete-game effort

From the leadoff spot, Mary Massei went 2-4 with two runs and a run driven in. Both of her hits were triples, tying a Wisconsin single-game record. Massei now has six triples on the season, a Wisconsin single-season record.

UW starter Meghan McIntosh was strong in the circle as she improved to 9-9 on the year. The sophomore struck out six and walked three while giving up just one run in a complete-game effort.

Green Bay did all of its damage in the first inning as Sara Junion hit a one-out double and Danielle Peerenboom followed with an RBI triple. McIntosh got out of the first inning jam by recording back-to-back strikeouts with Peerenboom still on third.

After getting out of the first inning, McIntosh did not allow another hit until the sixth inning, a span of 18 batters.

Wisconsin tied the game up at 1-1 in the second inning.

Shannel Blackshear led off with a walk and was pinch run for by Abby Gregory. Stephanie Peace put down a sacrifice bunt to move Gregory to second. Gregory then advanced to third as Whitney Massey grounded out to first. Kendall Grimm came through with the game-tying hit as she put down a bunt and beat the throw to first as Gregory crossed the plate.

The Badgers scored the eventual winning run in the third inning.

Massei led off with the first of her two triples. After a ground out, Karla Powell drove in Massei with a sacrifice bunt. The inning was extended a batter later as Michelle Mueller reached on a fielding error by Junion at shortstop. Mueller then stole second and came around to score on a single up the middle by Blackshear.

In the fourth inning, Green Bay threatened despite not recording a hit. Wisconsin's defense was up to the task though.

Alli Rivera led off with a walk and was pinch run for by Haley Andrews. After a sacrifice bunt moved Andrews to second, McIntosh struck out Taylor Woepse but a wild pitch enabled Woepse to take first and Andrews to take third.

Cassie Scheel then flew out to Grimm in right field. Andrews tagged from third and tried to score, but Grimm came up throwing. Whitney Massey caught the ball and blocked the plate, resulting in a 9-2, inning-ending double play.

After stopping a Green Bay threat, Wisconsin posted a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the inning.
Fresh off making the great defensive play, Grimm recorded a leadoff single and took second on a sacrifice bunt from Jordan Skinner. Massei then hit her second triple of the game to make it 4-1.

Massei's triple chased Green Bay starter Katie Cooney, but relief pitcher Allison Goecks walked the first batter she faced, Jennifer Krueger, who then stole second. Karla Powell got the Badgers' their fifth and final run by grounding out to short and bringing home Massei.

Green Bay mounted one last threat in the sixth inning.

Rivera singled to start the inning, the first Green Bay hit since Peerenboom's triple in the first inning. Rivera was erased though as Mueller fielded a grounder from Shannon Butts and stepped on second to start a 6-3 double play.

Woepse singled to keep the inning alive and Scheel was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second with two outs. The Badgers got out of it though when Miranda Reinke grounded to Blackshear, who stepped on third for the final out.

The Badgers hit the road one last time this season when they visit Purdue this weekend. Games on Saturday and Sunday each start at 1 p.m. (CT).
