Badger head coach Michael Burcin complimented his team members who played in the state amateur. "We as a staff are very proud of Chris Meyer and Anthony Aicher's efforts this past weekend at the State Am. Obviously Chris will be disappointed on not getting the win, but we could not be more happy with his attitude and mental toughness.
"Moving forward, it is imperative that our current and future Badgers compete at the highest level regionally and nationally during the summer amateur schedule. The golf course was set up very similar to a NCAA Championship with the rough and quick greens. This is a terrific step for our program and a great weekend for Chris and Anthony leading into our fall schedule."
Meyer played in all 27 rounds this year for the Badgers averaging 76.74 strokes per round. He set career highs with 70 for 18-holes, 148 for 36-holes and 224 for 54-holes. His best collegiate finish was a tie for 38th at the 2010 Renaissance with a 54-hole total 226.
