INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Junior RB Melvin Gordon ripped off a 58-yard run on his first carry of the game and a 51-yard run on his first carry of the 2nd half. He now has seven runs of 40+ yards this season and 17 in his career. He is now averaging 40.8 yards per carry on his first attempt of the second half.
• Gordon went over the 100-yard mark in the first half and finished the game with a career-high 259 yards on 27 carries. It was his 14th career 100-yard rushing game, third career 200-yard rushing game and the 13th time in the last 20 games he has rushed for at least 140 yards. Today was his third straight game with at least 185 rushing yards.
• Gordon’s 259 rushing yards is the eighth-best all-time rushing performance in school history and the second-most by a Wisconsin player in a Big Ten road game (Ron Dayne had 289 yards at Illinois on Nov. 23, 1996).
• Gordon became the 11th Wisconsin player to run for at least 3,000 yards in his career. He now ranks 11th on UW’s career rushing list with 3,199 yards.
• Senior WR Kenzel Doe made his first career touchdown reception, hauling in a 19-yard pass in the fourth quarter. The TD came on Doe’s 30th career reception.
• Doe has five punt returns of 15-plus yards this season and each one has set up a UW touchdown.
• Junior QB Joel Stave saw his first action of the season and went 8-of-19 for 114 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions.
