TEAM NOTES
•    Today’s captains were seniors Rob Havenstein and Derek Landisch and junior Michael Caputo.
•    Wisconsin has worn red helmets seven times over the past two seasons. UW has won all seven games by a combined score of 298-78.
•    The Badgers beat Purdue for the ninth straight time, posting their sixth consecutive win in West Lafayette.
•    UW has not allowed a touchdown in the first half in any of the last three games.
•    Wisconsin’s 90-yard touchdown drive in the second quarter matched the Badgers’ longest of the season (also had 90-yard TD drives vs. South Florida and Illinois).
•    Eight different receivers caught passes for the Badgers. That’s the second-highest total this season. Nine different receivers caught passes against Maryland.
•    The Badgers entered the game leading the nation in fewest yards allowed at 253.8 and lowered that total by surrendering just 230 yards today. UW is now allowing 251.1 yards per game.
•    Purdue managed a mere 26 yards rushing on 26 carries, the third straight UW opponent to fail to rush for 100 yards. UW has now held six of nine opponents below 100 yards rushing on the season. Over the last three games, the Badgers defense is allowing an average of 49.3 yards rushing.
•    UW tallied 4.0 sacks on the day for the third time this season. The Badgers now have 28.0 sacks on the year, surpassing last year’s total of 26.0.
•    After Purdue trimmed the lead to eight at 24-16, the Boilermakers managed just 24 yards on their final five drives.

PLAYER NOTES
•    Junior RB Melvin Gordon accumulated 249 all-purpose yards, running for 205 yards on 25 carries and catching three passes for 44 yards, while tallying two touchdowns. He averaged 8.9 yards per touch. His 44 receiving yards was the second-highest total of his career, trailing only his 57 yards at Penn State on Nov. 24, 2012.
•    Gordon has rushed for at least 100 yards in eight of the Badgers’ nine games this season, including the last seven in a row. He has 18 career 100-yard rushing games, tied with John Clay and James White for sixth-best in UW history. Gordon has rushed for at least 140 yards 15 times in his career and six times this season. Gordon has gone over 200 yards on the ground four times in his career, including three this season.
•    Gordon has scored a touchdown in each game this season and has multiple TDs in six of the last seven games. He has 21 touchdowns on the year, tying Ron Dayne (1996) for the fourth-highest single-season total in school history. His 27-yard TD reception in the second quarter was his third career touchdown catch.
•    Gordon’s 47-yard run in the second quarter was his 10th rush of 40+ yards this season and the 20th of his career. Wisconsin leads the country with 16 runs of 40+ yards this season.
•    Junior QB Joel Stave went over the 200-yard mark through the air for the first time this season and eighth time in his career.
•    Stave has thrown 33 career touchdown passes, tied with Russell Wilson and Jim Sorgi for fifth on Wisconsin’s all-time list. Today was his 11th career game with multiple touchdown passes and second this season.
