Wisconsin vs. Rutgers
November 25, 2015
UW Field House — Madison, Wis.

Head coach Kelly Sheffield
On opening statement:
"I thought we got a little stronger as the match went on and that was nice to see. Excited about another Big Ten win."

On if he was less excited about how match started:
"We did some positive stuff tonight certainly. Taylor [Morey] got on a nice serving run there in the third [set], and four service aces, that's good for her. There were some positives, and there were some things we probably didn't do as good of a job on. Really happy that Tori [Blake] was able to get some action tonight for a couple of sets, and she came in and did a really nice job. There were some positives here, and some things we probably weren't real crisp on. We got better as we went along, so that was certainly good to see."

On Amber MacDonald ending string of net serves, drawing a loud ovation from the crowd:
"Our crowd showed some sense of humor in those moments."

Senior L Taylor Morey
On how match felt to her:
"The energy in the Field House was high. We were struggling to find a rhythm at the beginning of the match and kind of throughout, but I felt like the intensity was good on the floor. It was just a matter of executing. And like coach said, we didn't execute at the highest level that we needed to. So that's what we're always talking about, getting better, and we still have a lot to improve on. Tomorrow we'll get back in the gym and we'll keep getting better. "

On if she can start to feel it when she goes on a service run:
"You can definitely, as your serve keeps going, you can start to heat up. Like I said, we were struggling to get in a rhythm. I knew that it was my job behind the service line to come in and produce some points. I was able to pick things out of their serve receive and execute my serve, which was huge for us in getting a run and getting back on track."

On what it means for Tori Blake to contribute off the bench:
"Tori is always one of those players that she's always mentally ready to get subbed in at any time. She knows that's her role and she's very good at it. She never takes a point off in practice, and when she does get opportunities in the match that definitely shows. It's nice that coach and us as teammates can rely on her to come in and have trust that she can get the job done because she can. And she does a really good job with that."

Sophomore OH Lauryn Gillis
On her run in a tight first set:
"I just really worked on looking for different shots, moving the ball around the court. The passers were good tonight, and I thought Lauren [Carlini] did a good job distributing, and so it made the job easier for me."

On how she evaluates the match:
"It wasn't our best night obviously, but I think that we got better as we got going. I think that's what's important is that we keep getting better. It wasn't our best night, but we pulled it out."
