TEAM NOTES
  • Today's captains: Senior OLB Vince Biegel, senior RB Dare Ogunbowale and junior OLB Garret Dooley.
  • Today's attendance at Camp Randall Stadium was a sellout crowd of 80,833.
  • The Badgers scored their third win of the season over a team ranked in the top 10 of the Associated Press poll, a school record. UW is the first Big Ten program to record three top-10 wins in the regular season since Michigan in 2003.
  • UW faced its fifth AP top-10 opponent of the season, the most in school history. The Badgers have played four top-10 foes on four occassions, most recently in 1961.
  • With its sixth win, Wisconsin is bowl eligible for the 15th-consecutive season, extending the longest active bowl streak in the Big Ten.
  • Wisconsin retained the Freedom Trophy, improving to 3-0 vs. Nebraska since the traveling trophy was introduced in 2014.
  • Overall, the Badgers have won five of their six games vs. Nebraska since it joined the Big Ten in 2011. UW is now 7-4 all-time against the Huskers.
  • Wisconsin has won 13 of its last 14 rivalry games with a trophy on the line, dating back to the 2010 season.
  • The Badgers improved to 11-3 against the Big Ten West Division since the Big Ten moved to its current divisional setup in 2014.
  • The Badgers are 70-31 (.693) in Big Ten play since the start of the 2004 season, with only Ohio State (85-16, .842) owning a better mark in league play over that span.
  • Wisconsin won its first overtime game since a 34-31 win over Auburn in the Outback Bowl on Jan. 1, 2015. The Badgers' last overtime win at Camp Randall Stadium was a 34-31 win over Fresno State on Sept. 12, 2009.
  • The Badgers ran for 223 yards, the second-highest total allowed by Nebraska this season (Oregon ran for 336 on Sept. 17, 2016). This was also UW's third-highest rushing total of the season.
  • Wisconsin's defense recorded a season-high 12 passes defended (2 interceptions and 10 pass breakups). UW's previous high for the season was 7 (Sept. 27 at Michigan State).
  • UW was flagged for just 1 penalty for 5 yards on Saturday. The Badgers entered the game averaging just 3.1 penalties per game, which was tied for the second-fewest nationally with Georgia Tech. Navy (2.3 per game) is the nation's least penalized team.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
  • Redshirt freshman QB Alex Hornibrook went 10-for-16 for 71 yards and threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Rob Wheelwright in the third quarter.
  • Senior QB Bart Houston completed 4 of 6 passes for 43 yards.
  • Senior RB Dare Ogunbowale scored the game-winning touchdown on an 11-yard run in overtime, his third TD of the season. Ogunbowale led the Badgers in rushing, carrying 11 times for a season-high 120 yards, the fourth 100-yard game of his career.
  • Redshirt freshman RB Bradrick Shaw scored the second touchdown of his career on a 21-yard run in the first quarter to give UW a 7-0 lead.
  • Sophomore LB Ryan Connelly posted a career-high 11 tackles, while also garnering career highs with 2 tackles for loss and 2 pass break-ups.
  • Junior LB Garret Dooley matched his career-high with 7 tackles, including 1.0 sack.
  • Senior CB Sojourn Shelton recorded his second interception of the season and the seventh of his career, picking off a Tommy Armstrong pass in the first quarter. Shelton now owns 35 career passes defended to tie for sixth all-time. His 28 pass breakups rank him No. 6 on UW's career list.
  • Junior ILB Leon Jacobs recorded a team-high 11 tackles, one shy of his career high.
  • Junior S D'Cota Dixon recorded his third interception of the season, picking off a Tommy Armstrong pass tipped by Alec James in the second quarter. Dixon recorded a pass break-up on the final play of the game to seal the UW win.
  • Redshirt freshman OL David Edwards made the first start of his career, lining up at right tackle.
  • Freshman P Anthony Lotti booted a career-long 49-yard punt and finished with 5 punts for an average of 39.2 yards per kick, the second-best mark of his career.
  • Senior K Andrew Endicott hit a 44-yard field goal to give UW a 10-7 lead in the second quarter. Endicott improved to 6-for-9 on the season, including 3-for-6 from beyond 40 yards.
